1. Overview
At Family Kharcha, we want you to be completely satisfied with your subscription. If you are not happy with your purchase, we offer a straightforward refund process. This policy applies to all paid subscription plans (Family and Premium) purchased through the Family Kharcha app.
Important: Payments are processed through the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android). The platform's refund policies may also apply in addition to ours.
2. Free Trial
Family Kharcha offers a 14-day free trial for the Family plan. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not wish to continue with a paid subscription, you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
No refund is required for free trials — simply cancel before the trial period expires.
3. Refund Eligibility
You are eligible for a refund if:
- You request a refund within 7 days of your initial subscription payment or renewal payment.
- You have not made excessive use of premium features during the refund period (at our discretion).
- Your account is in good standing (not suspended for violation of our Terms of Service).
We may grant refunds outside of this 7-day window on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion — for example, in cases of technical issues or exceptional circumstances.
4. Non-Refundable Situations
We do not offer refunds in the following cases:
- Refund requests made more than 7 days after the payment date.
- Partial month or partial year refunds for cancellations mid-cycle (you retain access until the end of your billing period).
- If your account was suspended or terminated due to a violation of our Terms of Service.
- Purchases made through a third-party promotional offer or gift code.
- The Starter (free) plan — it costs nothing, so no refund applies.
5. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please follow these steps:
- Step 1: Email us at hello@familykharcha.com with the subject line "Refund Request".
- Step 2: Include your registered email address, the date of purchase, the plan you purchased (Family or Premium), and a brief reason for the refund request.
- Step 3: We will review your request and respond within 2 business days.
- Step 4: If approved, the refund will be processed back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Refunds via Apple App Store
If you purchased your subscription on iOS, Apple processes all payments. You can also request a refund directly through Apple:
- Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID and find the Family Kharcha purchase.
- Select "Request a refund" and follow the prompts.
Refunds via Google Play Store
If you purchased your subscription on Android, you can request a refund directly through Google:
- Open the Google Play Store app and go to Account → Purchase History.
- Find the Family Kharcha subscription and tap "Request a refund".
- Alternatively, visit play.google.com and request a refund from your order history.
6. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically trigger a refund. After cancelling:
- You retain access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period.
- At the end of the billing period, your account automatically moves to the Starter (free) plan.
- Your data is never deleted when you cancel or downgrade.
To cancel on iOS: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Family Kharcha → Cancel.
To cancel on Android: Go to Google Play → Account → Subscriptions → Family Kharcha → Cancel.
7. Plan Changes
If you upgrade your plan mid-cycle, the price difference will be prorated and charged immediately. If you downgrade, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle — you are not charged a lower rate for the current cycle, nor are you refunded the difference.
